A modern victorian scientist.

These days we tend to think of scientists as being very specialised, hiding away in thier labs. It is often the case that one group of researchers in one area have little knowledge of the work of others working in a totally different disapline. However, one group's research may hold the vital key that will move another group's work forward.

I have been a scientist all my life and in many ways truly interdisciplinary. A bit like the Victorian Scientists of old I have an interest in many areas of science, and whilst I am intrigued, like many people, with exotic science (one of my specialities is Molecular Electronics) I also like to look at things from a common sense prospective, keeping in mind business requirements and the ideals of the Blue Economy and sustainability.

Some of the areas of science and engineering I have worked in:

  • Polymer electrolytes
  • One dimensional Metals
  • Langmuir-Blodgett films
  • Plasma carbon for hydrogen storage
  • Electrochemical FETS
  • Superconductors
  • Thin film sensors

  • Waste coolant processing
  • Waste water processing
  • Plasma cracking
  • Development of microwave plasma Systems
  • Plastics Recycling
  • Consulting on Blue economy Projects
  • Biodiesel process devlopment
